Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is set to finish his term with a 61% approval rating, according to a survey conducted by QM Estudios de Opinión in collaboration with Heraldo Media Group.
In response to the question, "Do you agree or disagree with the work carried out so far by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador?" 61% of respondents answered “agree,” 21% said “disagree,” 11% were “neutral,” and the remaining participants responded with “don’t know/no opinion.”

The poll was conducted via 800 telephone interviews from September 10 to 13, 2024, just two weeks before the president's term ends. The phone numbers were selected randomly from across the country, and the sample was adjusted to reflect the population by state, gender, and age, according to the 2024 electoral roll.
Telephone surveys tend to capture opinions from higher-income and more educated population segments. The survey's margin of error is +/- 3.51%, with a 95% confidence level; all respondents were adults.
President López Obrador's term officially concludes midnight on Monday, September 30. On October 1, he will pass the presidential sash to Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, former head of Mexico City's government, in a formal session of the Chamber of Deputies.
Ifigenia Martínez, president of the lower house, will place the presidential sash on the president-elect. Following the inauguration, Claudia Sheinbaum will deliver her first address as Mexico’s constitutional president in Mexico City’s Zócalo, where the Indigenous Peoples and Afro-Mexican Peoples Ceremony will occur, marking the symbolic transfer of the Staff of Command.
