The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), through the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (IMA) and the Consulate of Mexico in Oklahoma, invites young Dreamers of Mexican origin to participate in the VI Dreamers Forum.
The objective is to provide them with tools that allow Dreamers to reach their potential as transnational leaders and promote their binational identity, as well as to encourage their greater participation in issues related to active citizenship.
Under the theme "Revolutionizing Dreams," the forum will take place from May 28 to 30, 2024, at the consular headquarters in Oklahoma. Up to a maximum of 65 Dreamers and distinguished community leaders, recognized for their dedication to causes related to beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), may participate.
For two days, participants will have the opportunity to take part in workshops, conferences, and activities aimed at exchanging ideas and proposals among various organizations and community leaders, creating support networks to promote valuable initiatives that arise during the forum.
Among the objectives of the meeting are also to strengthen their roots and links with Mexico and to facilitate the connection between Dreamer leaders in the United States and relevant actors in Mexico, promoting their personal and professional development.
The requirements to apply are:
- Being over 18 years old by May 28, 2024.
- Being a DACA beneficiary or community leaders in the field of migration, human rights, and/or civic rights.
- Having a prominent trajectory and leadership in favor of DACA beneficiaries and/or migrant communities in the United States.
- Sending the requested documents to the nearest Embassy or Consulate to your residence by April 5, 2024.
- Mexican representations abroad (RME) must submit their nominations for the Dreamers Forum 2024, with the requested documentation complete. To see the list of documents and complete details of the call, please visit the following link: [link provided].
