During the first presidential debate in the United States between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, the Mexican peso rose as it depreciated to 18.57 units per dollar. Gabriela Siller, director of Banco BASE, commented that the Mexican peso would continue on a losing streak in the event of a possible Trump victory.

Gabriela Siller tweeted that the peso continues to depreciate as the likelihood of Donald Trump winning the November elections increases, due to the fact that the current president, Joe Biden, continues to have erratic episodes, indicating that he might not endure another presidential term.
