According to information from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), there are 5,000 visas available for returning workers who were issued H-2B visas or had H-2B status in fiscal years 2021, 2022, or 2023, regardless of nationality, and who request employment start dates for the latter half of fiscal year 2024, from May 15th to September 30th.

For these workers, petitions will begin to be accepted starting from April 22nd, 2024.

The H-2B program allows U.S. employers or agents who meet certain specific regulatory requirements to bring foreigners to the United States to temporarily fill non-agricultural jobs. A U.S. employer, or an agent as described in the regulations, must file Form I-129, Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker, on behalf of the prospective worker.

Any additional information about supplemental visas for fiscal year 2024 is available on the Temporary Increase in H-2B Nonimmigrant Visas for Fiscal Year 2024 page.
